Understanding your refrigerant in your plant is important to evaluating the environmental impacts that these chemicals present, and the potential regulatory impacts that you might face today, or in the future. There are Natural refrigerants, HCFCs (most of which are already banned), HFC’s (many of which are beginning to face regulatory bans), HFC/HFO Blends (often referred to as HFO blends which are blended with HFC’s to reduce the GWP impact), and HFO refrigerants (newly designed refrigerants to meet lower GWP thresholds).
